Privacy policy
What this site collects, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Last updated 23 October 2026.
To complete before launch: the data controller's name and postal address, a working contact email, and confirmation of whether any analytics or email tool is in use. This policy describes the site as currently built — a plain content site with no accounts, no payments and no tracking. If anything is added, this page must be updated first.
Who we are
Slacklining.co.uk is an independent information website published in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law, the publisher is the data controller.
What we collect
Information you give us
If you contact us, we receive whatever you choose to put in your message, including your email address. We use it to reply to you and for nothing else.
Information collected automatically
This site is served through Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information needed to deliver a page and to protect the site from attack: your IP address, the page requested, your browser type and the time of the request. This is ordinary server logging, it is handled by Cloudflare as our processor, and it is retained for a limited period.
Cookies
This site does not set advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not use a tracking pixel. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary cookie for security and bot management; under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, strictly necessary cookies do not require consent.
If you follow an affiliate link to a retailer, that retailer will set its own cookies on its own site, under its own privacy policy. We have no control over and no access to those.
Our legal bases
- Legitimate interests — keeping the site available, secure and working correctly.
- Legitimate interests — replying to a message you have chosen to send us.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for marketing. Our infrastructure provider, Cloudflare, processes requests on our behalf. We may disclose information if we are legally required to.
International transfers
Cloudflare operates a global network, so a request may be served from, and logged on, infrastructure outside the UK. Those transfers are covered by the safeguards in Cloudflare's own data processing terms.
How long we keep things
Server logs are retained by Cloudflare for a limited period under their retention policy. Email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to deal with the matter it concerns.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask us for a copy of any personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. To exercise any of these, contact us.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
